The ICISP Canterbury program
provides students with an exciting and affordable
introduction to modern Britain.
Students attend classes at
Canterbury Christ Church
University, a growing institution with
14,000 students, located near the medieval city
wall and a few blocks away from the well-known
Canterbury Cathedral. Formerly known as Christ Church College,
the College added "University" to its name in 1998
by permission of the Privy Council and dropped
"College" in 2005.
CCCU is noted for humanities
and social sciences, teacher
training, nursing, law enforcement, and social
care. The university is organized around four major
divisions: 1) Arts and humanities; 2) Business and
Sciences; 3) Education; and 4) Health. CCCU offers

ICISP program students will all
take a class in Modern Britain and a survey of
either British History or British Literature. They
will take two additional classes with
British students. ICISP students full access to all
CCCU facilities, including co- and extracurricular
activities, as well as the services of the CCCU
International Office.
Two ICISP faculty will also be on site to assist with
personal or academic issues. These two faculty
members will be available to ICISP student
participants throughout the entire semester of study
abroad.
