The ICISP Canterbury program provides students with an exciting and affordable introduction to modern Britain.  Students attend classes at Canterbury Christ Church University, a growing institution with 14,000 students, located near the medieval city wall and a few blocks away from the well-known Canterbury Cathedral.    Formerly known as Christ Church College, the College added "University" to its name in 1998 by permission of the Privy Council and dropped "College" in 2005.

CCCU is noted for humanities and social sciences, teacher training, nursing, law enforcement, and social care.  The university is organized around four major divisions:  1) Arts and humanities; 2) Business and Sciences; 3) Education; and 4) Health. CCCU offers online Facts and Figures about the institution.

ICISP program students will all take a class in Modern Britain and a survey of either British History or British Literature.  They will take two additional classes with British students.  ICISP students full access to all CCCU facilities, including co- and extracurricular activities, as well as the services of the CCCU International Office.  Two ICISP faculty will also be on site to assist with personal or academic issues.  These two faculty members will be available to ICISP student participants throughout the entire semester of study abroad.
